Day Six: The Start of Build

Today, we did many things. Patrick programmed the drivetrain and started working on the auto, while Carrie and Faris built the drivetrain, and started the intake. Jason worked in our engineering notebook, and Mackensie and MacCoy worked on the elevator, Iulia also helped a bit at one point, and then she edited, and posted on social media. Overall, it was a very productive first day of build season!

Day Five: The Arrival of the Kit

Today, the kit arrived so obviously we were really excited therefore, we started filming an unboxing video. We wanted to open the box a cool way, so Faris grabbed a meter stick and hit the box...the meter stick broke...so then Charlotte cut the tape with scissors and the box was finally opened, and we started taking the parts out and sorting them into different categories. We uploaded a YouTube video about it on our channel, Binary Bots 001, go watch it if you want to see more!

Day Four: Disappointment and Bonding Day

Today, we were very disappointed and sad because we thought our kit would arrive but it didn't, so we did some media and outreach stuff, and then did some bonding by throwing around a ball and talking to each other about life.

Day Two: Cardboard Prototypes and Minecraft

Today, we split into two groups for intake and elevators, Carrie, Mackensie, and Faris on intake and Iulia and Patrick on the elevators. We each made individual ideas and then presented them to each other and after we discussed the best options and chose the one which fit best with the robot’s idea. After this was done, we didn’t really have anything to do so we played Minecraft on our team server! Fun times. Make sure to stay tuned to our youtube for epic minecraft gameplay and helpful and interesting tutorials!!
Talk to yall on the next one byeeee.

Day One: Outreach and other fun stuff

Today, we started our meeting by assigning tasks for the day. Since we don’t have out kit or supplies yet, we can’t start building our robot yet. However, we still worked on different outreach and media things. Like this brand new blog! After assigning tasks, we started working and somehow started talking about which Phinneas and Ferb character out team members represented which was fun. Mackensie and Jason wrote scripts for videos about tools like the chain breaker, servos, drivetrain and more to come. Patrick wrote some helpful programming tutorials about setting up a robot, programming a drivetrain and vision tracking, while Carrie and Thomas worked on the engineering notebook and the style guide. Iulia worked on updating the website and setting up this blog!
Talk to y’all later byeee.
